Scotland’s Towns Conference 2016 comes at a key moment for Scotland’s towns. The hosting of the first ever World Towns Leadership Summit in Edinburgh this summer highlighted that Scotland is leading the way in town transformation and partnership working across sectors – and even borders.

However, great challenges remain for Scotland’s diverse towns. The emerging national context of economic uncertainty underlines the need for towns to utilise partnerships and innovation to continue to build on progress made in recent times. Delivering inclusive growth that can generate positive social outcomes is now a first-order question on national and global policy agendas. Scotland’s towns and their communities can harness this agenda to ensure that all can benefit from broader, wider local strategies. This includes exploring opportunities offered by new developments in the digital, creative, housing and planning spheres.

Join leading practitioners, policy-makers, and other key stakeholders to discuss how our towns can flourish through local strategies with partnership and innovation at their core.
