Celebrate, learn and share

Your Festival, Your Community will be an event celebrating, learning about and connecting local film festivals from all over Scotland. It will be completely free to attend, open to any local film festival organisers in Scotland and the rest of the UK, people interested in starting a festival, or those who want to find out how they can support local film festivals.

We'll be joined by speakers from Cromarty Film Festival, Glasgow Short Film Festival, the Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema, Whitley Bay Film Festival and more, to share experience and advice and consider the question: what makes a film festival local?

The event will explore the themes most important to local film festivals in Scotland such as planning special events, creating an inclusive festival and how to make a festival sustainable.

Your festival could win an award!

The Your Festival, Your Community Awards event will take place on the evening of Friday 27 April at MacRobert, when we'll recognise the achievements of local film festivals and the communities that support them. Our special guest will present awards in categories such as Best Guest and Most Surprising Location, after which there'll be a dinner reception for all attendees.

Bursaries available for travel and accommodation.

A limited number of bursaries up to £150 are available for travel and accommodation for attendees of Your Festival, Your Community. For more information click the link below.
