Cycling Scotland Conference 2021

This year’s Conference will be held online during COP26 on Thursday 4th November 2021 from 10am – 4pm, and will explore the theme of: “Working together to overcome inequalities, make our roads safer and help us face the climate emergency”.

Each year, our conference attracts more than 200 delegates including national and local active travel organisations, local authorities, national politicians, campaigners and many others involved in aspects of cycling from the public, private and third sector.

We're pleased to announce our keynote speakers:

  • Minister for Zero Carbon Buildings, Active Travel and Tenants' Rights - Patrick Harvie MSP
  • Deputy Mayor of Paris - David Belliard
  • Vice President of the World Cycling Alliance - Amanda Ngabirano
  • CEO of Public Health Scotland - Angela Leitch

The conference will be Chaired by Alastair Dalton, Transport Correspondent at The Scotsman.

Scotland's Towns Conference 2021

The Scotland's Towns Conference 2021 will take place from 23rd November. The core conference sessions will be running from 23rd-25th November, 1000-1500, with a wider programme of activity taking place throughout the week. More details to be published soon.

Nations of Towns

Nation of towns second event will take place on the mornings of the 25th and 26th of November. The interactive session taking place on day 2 will involve academics, practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers generating ideas for cross-border, trans-disciplinary research and knowledge exchange projects. 

The event will be organized as follows:

Day 1: 9.30-11.00 - 25th November 2021; Update on the Nations of Towns initiative, presentations on funding and policy context, discussion.

Day 2: 9.30-12.00 - 26th November 2021; Interactive workshop in small groups with a range of stakeholders investigating the potential for cross-border, trans-disciplinary research and KE projects.

The event will be held entirely on-line using a combination of Zoom & Miro.
