This event will be an opporunity for delegates to discuss the key steps needed to revitalise Scotland's town centres and high streets.
Reinvigorating Scotland's High Streets
According to a recent report published by FSB Scotland on the future of Scotland's towns, a total of 414 stores have closed across Scotland since 2016. The negative consequences of these closures is keenly felt across town centres in Scotland.
In light of this trend the Scottish Government, in partnership with COSLA, announced a £50 million fund in March 2019 to be allocated according to the aims of the existing Town Centre Action Plan.
The new fund joins a raft of other policies including the UK Government's Stronger Towns Fund and the soon to be established Scottish National Investment Bank.
Join Holyrood on 22nd January 2020 as we explore how these policies can be leveraged to support the regeneration of Scotland's town centres, and discuss what further steps may be necessary to drive real change.
