Inverclyde Council's budget working group has drawn up a list of one-off spending plans including £2.5million for regeneration of town centres, funding towards a possible indoor tennis facility and a project to make the area an Autism-Friendly Community.

The cross-party group, which represents 14 of Inverclyde's 20 councillors, will be recommending the investment list is agreed at the full council budget meeting on 16 February.

Inverclyde Council leader and chairman of the budget group Stephen McCabe said:"I'm sure these proposals will be welcomed across the community."

The £2.5million town centre regeneration would be split between Greenock, Gourock and Port Glasgow with most of it being targeted at Greenock town centre. Mr McCabe said priority projects would be drawn up in consultation with the three town centre regeneration forums.
