The new Highland Main Line Community Rail Partnership (HML CRP) was launched on Monday at an event at Pitlochry Station. The route extends from Dunkeld and Birnam to Carrbridge, taking in Pitlochry, Blair Atholl, Dalwhinnie, Newtonmore, Kingussie, and Aviemore.

Railways across the UK have seen the numbers using local stations increase by between 7% and 10% as a result of CRPs working with communities, and we are hopeful that by working closely with the HML CRP, we will encourage more people to travel by train.

ScotRail will financially support the not-for-profit HML CRP, through their £1m Community Rail programme, so it can strengthen the rail industry’s connections with the community. ScotRail encourage any organisations with projects that they feel would enhance the railway’s benefit to the community to approach the HML CRP via:  [email protected]
