Tartan Cents is a pilot programme to mobilise Scotland’s US based diaspora through an innovative grant funding platform that will support iconic Scottish regeneration projects.
Working with Scotland’s Towns Partnership, and US-based Patronicity, the platform will aim to support community crowd-granting for towns and cities across Scotland. The programme will seek contributions to link up Scottish diaspora around the world to strengthen community links in the homeland by building bridges and sharing stories.
There are approximately 6.6 million direct descent Scots-Ulster Scots currently residing in the United States alone. It is also estimated that there are between 28-40 million Scottish descendants globally.read more
