The first of four Hamilton BID Markets took place on Saturday 7th August in Quarry Street.

The purpose of these new markets led by Hamilton BID and local businesses is to drive additional footfall into the town centre and re-engage the public with their town centres and boost post-pandemic recovery.

Hamilton Our Town manager Malcolm Thomas-Harley said:

"We were absolutely delighted by the level of engagement from local businesses and the public alike with the level of support evident in the fantastic uplift in footfall and spending within the town throughout the day.

We have estimated that an additional 1,000 people visited the area on Saturday and based upon the flood of positive feedback from the public and businesses it was a real success for our local area. We were thrilled to see the town buzzing once again with positive sales results within the area driven by live entertainment and the market that included several town centre businesses and great levels of engagement and collaboration.

We once again thank STP for their recent grant to support this project and look forward to reporting ongoing success."
