Zero Waste Scotland would like to engage with all Scottish Improvement Districts (SIDs) via Scotland’s Towns Partnership to provide them with the opportunity to inform and identify future projects that would be of real value and assistance to their members.
By taking this approach, Zero Waste Scotland hopes to ensure any future projects relating to waste management or resource efficiency focus on areas most commonly identified by Improvement Districts as problematic.
Through our Resource Efficient Scotland programme, we can find ways to help businesses reduce costs by saving energy and water, reducing raw materials use and managing waste efficiently.
Small businesses do not always have the time or resources to address these issues and that’s where we recognise the role of Improvement Districts as a key support network for businesses in their respective areas. Improvement Districts are therefore ideally placed to help facilitate local businesses to achieve easier, less costly and more effective solutions to become more resource efficient.
To help us deliver projects that are both relevant and of real practical benefit to businesses on a daily basis, we would like to gather information on:
- How each Improvement District area is structured and the size of area it serves.
- What is working well within your area?
- What could be better?
- What are the main challenges you face on a daily basis?
- What resource efficiency issues would you like ZWS to help you improve or assist with?
It would be very much appreciated if you could please help businesses in your Improvement District area realise their true potential in terms of cost and resource savings, by taking 5 minutes to complete the attached questionnaire.
