Place Standard

Designed to support communities, public, private and third sectors, to work efficiently together, the Place Standard provides a framework to assess the quality of a place.

The tool supports collaborative working by providing a framework for structured conversations to occur, and allows participants to consider what action might be taken and to identify where their priorities lie. It enables the physical, social and environmental quality of a place to be evaluated in a structured way, but also, importantly, it aims to initiate positive conversations and collaborations between key groups and to identify areas where quality can be improved.

Place Standard Learning Resource

The aim of this learning resource is to enable users through the use of tools and templates to understand and practically apply the Place Standard Tool. Access here.

This learning resource is brought to you by NHS Health Scotland, the Scottish Government and Architecture and Design Scotland. This resource extends to any group looking to undertake a Place Standard assessment and has primarily been designed with community and third sector groups and organisations in mind.
