In a fast changing landscape, this is a knowledge update for people with a good basis in local economic development, to cater for the changing economic and policy circumstances. The course addresses four key topics:  Challenges Facing Scotland's Economy and Future Scenarios; Emerging Economic Policy in Scotland and the UK; Scotland's Businesses and Sectors; and Scotland's People. Below is an example of the feedback received from previous course participants:

"The Refresher course in Economic Development provides a useful overview and update of current national and regional economic policy, with fresh analysis on the latest trends in the Scottish economy. It has provided useful context for the economic policy, intelligence work and briefings that Fife Council's Economic Advisors carry out."
