Scotland’s Towns Partnership invites you to the unveiling of the online Town Toolkit: a new resource which supports work to turn aspirations for our towns into reality.
In this free one-hour session we provide an overview and ‘mini-tutorial’ on how to use the Toolkit for your own project or place-based vision for regeneration.
STP’s Chief Officer, Phil Prentice, will give a background overview of the Toolkit and how it links to current policy for towns and city districts.
Nick Wright, who developed and sourced the Toolkit’s content, will then give a ‘mini-tutorial’ on how to use this new resource effectively and efficiently. He will explain the main themes and sections of the website, and show examples of how users can quickly access the content they need depending on the focus of their project.
Time will also be provided for questions and discussion.

What is the new Town Toolkit?
As we look to the post-Covid recovery for town centres and city districts, the Town Toolkit is one of the next-generation supports to help us transform our places for the benefit of all.
Developed by Scotland’s Towns Partnership with support from Scottish Government and a range of contributing organisations, the Town Toolkit is an up-to-date resource full of tried and tested ideas to help anyone who wants to make positive changes to their town.
The Toolkit is built to facilitate access to the information that you most need depending on the focus of your project and your current step on the journey to delivery.
Overarching pages give information on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of making change: collaboration, planning, resourcing, delivery and measuring success. Meanwhile theme-based sections provide ideas, advice, case studies and short videos along themes such as: arts and culture, buildings and property, clean and green, enterprise and business, and streets and spaces.
