VisitScotland and Sustrans Scotland, with support from ScotRail, are working on a £50K campaign to raise awareness of the ScotRail Highland Explorer Services along the West Highland Line.
Recognising the growing need for car-free travel and days out, Transport Scotland and Scotrail aim to address a long-standing issue around bike capacity on trains, with the new Highland Explorer carriages running along the West highland Line between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban.
The pilot project is a UK first, and if successful, the service may be extended to Fort William on the same line and other Scottish rail services.
