SURF is delighted to announce the appointment of Euan Leitch as their new Chief Executive. Euan succeeds Andy Milne who is retiring after 18 successful years as CEO of Scotland's Regeneration Forum.

Euan, who has been director at BEFS (Built Environment Forum Scotland) since 2015, will be taking up this key SURF role in May 2021. He is a longstanding supporter of SURF and its cross-sector collaborative approach to addressing inequalities. Euan is already widely respected throughout the Scottish regeneration network for his work with BEFS, where he has delivered a strong programme of strategic work. That has included promoting and fostering the productive links between the built environment and community regeneration, diversity, enterprise, resilience and wellbeing.

Following a full and open recruitment process, the successful appointment was made by members of SURF’s Executive Committee and was unanimously welcomed by  the SURF Board of Directors. The SURF Chair, Kate Wimpress, said:

“Euan is a proven leader in regeneration in Scotland. He understands, and is enthusiastic about leading and further developing the important work we do. We are confident his appointment will bring a fresh and creative energy to SURF’s future.  Andy’s contribution to SURF has been outstanding over nearly two decades. He can now step back and enjoy a well-earned retirement knowing that SURF’s work continues with committed and dynamic leadership. “

Incoming Chief Executive, Euan Leitch, said:

"I'm delighted to be joining the SURF team, having twice had the privilege of participating as a judge in the SURF awards. I look forward to building on Andy's achievements and, with SURF's members, addressing the new challenges we will face in the post-COVID environment."
