
The Fife Science Festival itself will kick off in Cowdenbeath this weekend with everything from animals, forensics, gaming and ecology to lasers and light-based technologies.
As part of the festival an outdoor screening of Wall – E will be shown on the greenspace in the heart of Cowdenbeath Town centre tonight (Wed 4th May) at 9.30pm. Those wishing to attend should bring a blanket or a seat. On Friday night May 6th Star Wars – The Force Awakens will be shown as part of the Cowdenbeath Community Cinema at Cowdenbeath from 7 o clock all Jedi’s and Stormtrooper’s are welcome. The festival itself will be held over the weekend at the Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre. It will showcase the wonders of science and encourage visitors to get hands-on at Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre on Saturday May 7 and Sunday May 8.
In addition on the Saturday night Guinness World record holder and member of the Magic Circle, Rosyth's Kevin McMahon – Quantum Magician http://quantummagician.com , will perform a one hour show mixing his unique brand of science and magic. Kevin has previously appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe and recently at the Fife Comedy Festival. FREE tickets will be available to those who attend the Science Festival on the Saturday on a first come first served basis.
