What are 20-minute neighbourhoods? Essentially it is all about 'living locally'—giving people the ability to meet most of their daily needs within an easy safe walking distance from their homes. This will contribute to a Scotland that is healthier, fairer, greener and prosperous.

This ambition for Scotland’s towns was set out in the Programme for Government 2020-21 and in the recent independent Town Centre Action Plan (TCAP) Review report. However, its achievement will take long term investment and collaboration between national and local government, planners, communities, public services and infrastructure providers. In the meantime, small gains can be made now as part of this wider transformation.

STP’s 2021 – 2022 CPD events will centre on the TCAP Review recommendations and in this first event in the series, we invite you to join us to examine what to consider right now to begin to create a walkable living local environment in our neighbourhoods.

Learn and contribute with guest speakers’ insights and demonstrator projects; sharing the long term vision, next steps and current examples of what can be achieved in the immediate future.
